Certificates

There are many different certificates indicating the quality or sustainability of products. Asterra buys it's products of different brands in several European countries. These brands carry as many or even more different certificates. If you want to know more about the social and environmental quality of the product you intent to buy, check the brand name in the list below.

Joha
 Joha is a Danish brand and all Joha articles caryy the European eco-label. You recognize the label by teh flower with in it's heart teh euro sign, and petals of stars representing the EU-countries. The eco-certificate controls the complete production chain from the production of the raw material to prcessing and transport to the packing of the article. For more information: EU-flower.

Cosilana
 Cosilana is a German brand. They produce in the south of Germany and the company has the IVN-certificate. IVN demands a wide range of concerns of the company: health, social accountability, environment, fashion, quality and price are a few relevant issues. Cosilana answers to these demands and therefor to the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). For more information: IVN.

Hocosa
 Hocosa is a Swiss company dat keeps striving for an even higher ecological standard of its products. Hocosa also carries the IVN certificate and has every single article certificated by IVN. Part of the products is thus rewarded with the IVN-best certificate. IVN-best demands the highest ecological and social conditions en is applied to all Hocosa products that are made of 100% wool. Alkena
 Alkena is a Swiss company and has been producing and selling natural textiles with a main focus on natural silk. Alkena has its own project in China for producing organic silk. This makes them unique in the world. We sell the the silk products of Alkena and choose this brand because of its outstanding organic (biodynamic) quality. For more information: Alkena.

Dilling
 Dilling is a brand new brand in the Netherlands! It is a Danish company. The family business was grounded in 1916 and has a long history and therefor a lot of experience in manufacturing underwear. Quality has always been a business motto. All articles are produced in the EU. The 100% woolen articles are certified with GOTS, Nordic ecolabel and the European ecolabel.

Safo
 Safo is a new brand in our shop since 2012. Safo is a Norwegian family business. If anybody knows how to live in cold weather circumstances, it is the Norwegian population; born from experience, one could say. Safo is a producer of socks originally but has grown out to a company with a large collection of underwear in wool and wool/silk combinations. The company claims to produce under environmental friendly circumstances but has no certification.

Moret
Moret is short for Moretta, an Italian family business that is specialised in underwear since 1954. The products that we sell of this brand are made of a combination of wool and silk. It is fashionable and affordable. The material is certified by oeko-tex standard 100: oekotex100
